I've often pointed out that there's only one Thoughts of they Day program. Well, technically that's not true as today we celebrate the 100th instalment of Grandpa Lampshade's Thoughts of the Day. This is quite the milestone for the show and I have to say, I find it hard to believe that we've actually had 100 of these conversations. To mark the 100th edition, I thought we'd spend a few minutes discussing exactly what is involved in doing these shows for those of you who have considered taking on this undertaking. Let me warn you, even though it is very satisfying work there is a lot more to it than you may think.
The word this week is that we, as the evil Nazi haters that we are, are being purged from the right-wing. In fact, it turns out we're not right-wing at all. No, we've actually been the left-wing all along. Who knew? Of course, this is just those who want to usurp the current momentum on the Right and harness it for their own ends, while trying to get us out of the picture but it's not going to work. They can scream, they can holler, they can call us all of the names under the sun and you know what? We're not going anywhere and there's not a damned thing they can do about it.
Much hand wringing was had this week as Paul Nehlen, who is running to take over Paul Ryan's seat in Congress, brought up the Jews on his Twitter account. We heard so much crying about what a bad move this was. We were told that there is no way he can win now. But what did he say? He simply said he wasn't going to put Israel's interests ahead of America's. Oh the outrage. What the hand-wringers fail to realize is that long term, having more prominent people highlighting the Jew's behavior is actually more important than whether or not this one guy wins a single seat in Congress. Think about it. Ron Paul wasn't a part of the system and he held a single seat in Congress for years and yet, what was he ever actually able to accomplish?
We have listener’s questions and comments this week folks! First up is one from Charlie who would like GPL's take on some specific issues and what those would look like in a National Socialist state. We've covered many of these over the last 100 episodes and honestly, I could do an entire segment on each one but we're gong to just do a quick summary of my take on each one right now. Now please bear in mind, I have no authority to implement any of the things I'm talking about and your vision of how these things would look will probably vary from mine. Remember, we're just visualizing some of them at this point. The truth is we have much more to accomplish before we actually get to have a serious discussion about implementing any of these things.
Our next question/comment comes from Salvus who even though he's an atheist has been lured into listening to the sermons of the Church of the Lampshade. Salvus would like to hear GPL explain the failure of Christianity in preventing the slaughter of Christians against Christians in the two world wars. I believe that what we have here is a category error on several levels, but we're going to take some time to really bear down and try to get to the bottom of this.
Finally we do convene the Church of the Lampshade as we fill the pews once again to discuss our mission as Christian believers today and as a part of the movement that we find ourselves in. So often, we tend to conflate past missions that other believers had as being our own. The Reverend Lampshade is here to tell you that you have a unique mission unlike the missions given to the Christian Church in years past. This is important to understand because in order to successfully carry out your mission, you must first understand what the mission is.

It's truly an amazing thing. Here's to our continued growth and our continued success as a movement.
