Sven Longshanks and Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson look at the recent backstabbing of President Trump by Mitt Romney and General Mattis.
Mitt Romney was happy to take Donald Trump’s endorsement when he needed it for his own presidential campaign and for his recent bid for the senate, yet each time he has turned around and stabbed Trump in the back. First by calling him a ‘phoney’ and accusing him of playing America for ‘suckers’ and now that he has been accepted for the senate, he has written an op-ed for the Washington Post that may as well have been written by Hillary Clinton.
Using the enemy’s language, he has vowed to oppose any of Trump’s actions that the fake news media tells him are “divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions”.
The Democrats have cheered him on of course, showing there is no difference of any import between the two parties, without Trump the GOP would be just as bad if not worse than the Democrats.
As well as Romney taking shots at the man out front from behind, the outgoing General Mattis has been doing the same, appearing to make veiled commands to the armed forces and the Pentagon to hold fast to their own original plans and ignore the President’s.
It is easy to condemn Trump for not fulfilling his campaign promises, but with a team that are not just failing to support him but are actively trying to sabotage him, most of the blame for this lies on their shoulders.
