Instalment #7 of the Church of the Lampshade comes to you this week. You know we're told that it took God 7 days to create the world, so viewed in that context we shouldn't feel too bad that it's taken us 7 episodes to start getting this all new show looking how we want it. This new show is just that; new. It's something I haven't done before. It's different. As such what I've been trying to put together here along with all of you who have been so kind as to bear with me, has been much an effort of trial and error. Now after 7 episodes I believe we are finally getting closer to what it is that we are trying to do.
Before our sermon this week we are having a visit and it's just that; a visit. We are going to talk about many things, too many to simply lay out in this description. Of course being a visit, ya'll have imput as well. Listener Rockdad brings up the topic of young White people mimicking and admiring the behavior of Blacks. It makes for good conversation.
The highlight of the show (as the name implies) is our sermon in the Church of the Lampshade. This week we revisit an old familiar verse of scripture, one that we will no doubt revisit again and that is "turning the other cheek". We will take this verse in the context of the other things Jesus said at the same time and remind ourselves once again what we were being instructed to do in this instance.
We're not worrying about instructing those who refuse to love the truth, we're making sure that we as believers aren't allowing ourselves to start believing the words of those who don't grasp it.
