Sven Longshanks and Carolyn Yeager discuss degenerate art and the removal of ‘nazi’ paintings from Merkel’s office before looking into Matteo Salvini’s new supergroup of EU MPs.
Despite the National Socialists being against degenerate art there was at least one artist from the movement that was sympathetic to the NSDAP and that was Emil Nolde. He went on to become a famous German artist and Angela Merkel did have paintings of his in her office, but they have now been removed due to revelations that he had written a treatise on the Jewish question.
This kind of art began around the time of the Bolshevik revolution and it was a portent for the chaos that was to come. Instead of reflecting the beauty of creation, it highlighted all that was ugly and through promotion of it by wealthy art dealers it has remained the most prominent style of art to this day.
The only reason people think it is any good is because authority figures tell them that it is, but as soon as the artist is discovered to have not liked the Jews it must be banned! All the lofty ideals of not discriminating against anyone because of their beliefs go out the window if it’s beliefs the Jews don’t like.
