It's a very special Easter Episode 10 of The Church of the Lampshade, as we gather around for an Easter Sunday celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
As always, we begin with our pre-sermon visit, where we discuss events that happened in the past week and our thoughts upon them. Our two main topics of discussion this week are the Notre Dame fire as well as the small white child thrown from a third floor balcony. One cannot possibly fathom what this child and his parents are going through. However we will discuss this from our own perspective and remember these folks in hopes that they may find strength in the Lord.
Our sermon this week centers around why we celebrate Easter. Namely the resurrection of Christ. As Christian believers, we always focus on our victory and salvation through Christ crucified, however we would do well to remember that there would be no salvation without Christ resurrected. In other words, while we do indeed have victory through Christ crucified that victory would not be complete without Christ resurrected.
