Melania looked particularly splendid in the photo shoots from this visit, she showed far more class than the Obamas could ever hope for and it looked like the Queen was really enjoying her time with the Trump family.
He was on good form for the press conference and you could see he has a lot of respect for royalty and ceremony, but it highlighted the central nature of the ‘good war’ myth to the current world order.
The ‘Special Relationship’ has become all about the two world wars when it should really be about the shared language and ethnic heritage of the two countries.
