Sven Longshanks explains why temptation is necessary, since the Catholic Pope doesn’t seem to understand it and thinks he knows better than Christ how to say the Lord’s Prayer.
Pope Francis has changed the Lord’s prayer so that instead of saying ‘Lead us not into temptation’ it now says ‘Do not let us fall into temptation’.
If we were never tempted, we would never have a chance to show our virtue and improve our character and spirit.
Temptation is part of the second chance we were given after disobeying God and eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
This temptation is only as bad as it is because we disobeyed God once again and made treaties with our future tempters 3,000 years ago.
We are tempted through God’s permission and for our own good, which is why it says ‘Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil’.
