Our pre-sermon opening discussion is based around what one could call the dead end of nihilism and we have a listener who is very much (I believe) at that point. We live in a corrupted society where value has been reduced to materialism and implied celebrity status. Yet, what about the average man? What about the worker, going about his day to day life? Does he have no value? According to our society the answer is no and it is very easy to fall into accepting this narrative. Yet like virtually everything else we are told, this too is a lie and a trap.
In our Christian specific message/sermon this week, we will be discussing marriage, love and lifetime commitments in this screwed up modern society. Like so many things, marriage has become a mockery of what it was intended and designed to be. This too is the work of the devil. You begin to see a pattern where Satan takes something God created, makes a cheap copy of it and then proceeds to make the cheap copy into a mockery and an object of ridicule. The vast majority cannot tell the cheap copy from the original and it all becomes a mockery and is ultimately destroyed. This is the plan that we see carried out time and again, sadly with much success. However here at The Church of the Lampshade, we wield the sword of truth that destroys the mockery Satan set up and instead glorifies God for what he created.
