Sven Longshanks and Max Musson bring us a Brexit update, before looking at courageous British hero Captain Cook on the 250th anniversary of him mapping New Zealand and first meeting the savages.
Much has been made of Boris Johnson supposedly saying he will obey the Benn Act, but what he actually said is that he will obey the law and there are still lawful ways we could avoid begging the EU for an extension.
In a disgusting display of ingratitude, Maoris are doing all they can to spoil the 250 year anniversary of Cook’s expedition to New Zealand. As well as refusing to allow a replica of The Endeavour to dock, they also demanded the High Commissioner apologise for Cook shooting and killing nine savages out of self defence. Thankfully the High Commissioner refused, but she still bent over backwards to appease them with a private meeting.
The Maoris were both cannibals and head hunters and remained so right into the 20th century. They should be pleased we allowed them to live, not be whining about a few hostiles being shot centuries ago.
