Sven Longshanks narrates from the research of Isabel Hill Elder looking into the early history of Britain.
The history of nations is always bound up with the history of their religion.
In many cases, nations are not even recorded as being formed until they became Christian.
The British people are recorded as having changed their national religion to Christianity in 156AD, which used to be common knowledge among the British people and a point of patriotic pride, until recently.
The paganism of Rome had thousands of victims among the early Christians, but the paganism of Britain had none.
In Ireland the Druids were referred to as Magi and just like in England, many of the Arch Druids became Arch Bishops.
They were treated favourably on the whole apart from a deplorable incident around Saint Patrick’s time, with the Bards continuing to hold their half-yearly sessions in Limerick right up until 1746.

The Culdees or refugees, were the first Christians who fled to Britain from the Roman persecution.
Once there, they were given land by Arviragus and founded the Glastonbury church, the Domus Dei, the burial place of the Saints.
Their doctrines shared much in common with the Druids, which explains why Christianity was accepted in the country so quickly.
