After the great listener feedback, GPL will delve into the inherent instability of the democratic system with the case in point being Russia. The media in the west is all kvetching that Putin continues to remain in power, as though this is a bad thing. Yet, why is it a bad thing, if a ruler who is doing well by his people remains in power? Why is it taken for granted in this society that getting rid of people no matter how good of a job they are doing is an inherently positive thing? If you ran a business, would you periodically fire your best employees? We are told in our modern society that the politicians supposedly work for the people. Yet, if this is the case, why are the people supposed to replace them regardless of whether or not they are doing a good job?
In the Christian specific message this week, the Reverend Lampshade goes old school or in this case, Old Testament to discuss the beginning of the fall of King David. Why should this story matter to you? After all, this is just ancient history, right? Yet it does matter because this serves as a really good illustration of the things that anger the Lord. Also, this demonstrates how temptation to greater and greater wickedness often correlates directly with how much prosperity, wealth and power one has. In this era of #Pizzagate this can be insightful indeed.
