The Church of the Lampshade is back and better than ever! This week, it’s all about the truth or more specifically, what makes the truth so dangerous. Grandpa Lampshade does his best this week to steer clear of corona talk. If you are like the host, you too are probably suffering from corona fatigue at this point. The news is nothing now but corona 24/7, thus it is pretty much impossible to avoid it all together but this isn’t going to be a corona-centric show this week. What it is going to be is a truth-centric show. We all live in a sick society because the society is based on lies and one of the fundamental aspects of the lie is the society wide denial of the existence of the spiritual nature of man. As a Christian believer you are no doubt well aware that this society has rejected God. However what is easier to miss is the fact that society as a whole has not only rejected God, but the existence of spiritual nature itself. This is of course intertwined; how are you going to acknowledge the Lord when you reject your own spiritual nature?
This rejection is reflected in the disfigured physical appearance of those who embrace the lie. Just as that which is ugly will hate and reject that which is beautiful, those who embrace the lie will hate those who embrace the truth.
This week, the Christian specific message and the rest of the show tend to overlap a bit. This is unavoidable because of the overall topics this week, truth and spiritual nature. So what does that mean for you, the believer? Why do they so fiercely attack you when you are but one tiny truth teller?
This seems strange when you consider that those who promote the lie have complete control of our media and governments. We find the answers in Mathew 5:13-16. The fact is that the blacker the darkness, the more powerful the light. Nobody notices a small flashlight left on in a well lit room. Yet, in total blackness even the weakest of light appears blinding to those who see it. In a society swallowed up by lies, enveloped by near total darkness, the light of your truth will shine all the more brightly, thus making it all the more dangerous.
