The listener support mailbag is one of the most fun aspects of this show and this week is no exception. A listener inquires about deteriorating family relations due to one’s political views. How does one handle these things? How does Grandpa Lampshade handle these things? This is a great and worthwhile discussion to have.
Listener support questions/comments lead us right into the opening segment of the show which sadly has to do with corona. Like all of you, the host has corona fatigue. Yet, discussing it is unavoidable at this point. It seems that people are falling into two camps; those who believe this is complete insanity and those who think WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE because we’re being told that by those in authority. There are interesting extenuating aspects of this as well. Namely; what appears to be the incoming depression 2.0 vs the old depression 1.0. There are many factors that point to this being a far more dysfunctional happening than the previous great depression. This isn’t conspiracy theory stuff. All one has to do is notice all the different actions the government is taking in the name of fighting corona.
The centerpiece of this show is the Christian specific message. This week’s Christian specific message is centered around the accusation of it somehow being unfair that the only way to the Kingdom of Heaven is through Christ. At some point you will run into the straw man argument “What if someone lived a perfectly righteous life, but didn’t believe in Jesus. Would that person go to hell?” This argument is fake and you shouldn’t fall for it. The Reverend Lampshade will break it down for you this week.
