Sven Longshanks and Dennis Wise look at the Protestant Church in Germany during the pre-war years of National Socialism.
The book ‘God Among the Germans’ details the close relationship between the National Socialist administration and members of the Christian Protestant Churches.
Prominent National Socialists noticed the similarities between National Socialism and Christianity and sought to have a similar revolution within the church, highlighting the racial implications of biblical teaching that many priests had been ignoring.
At first they had great success, but later in the war years the dream of a united Protestant Church was to fall apart.
