Grandpa Lampshade reads out letters to the show and questions what it is that drives us, before discussing Jesus’ condemnation of the pharisees' virtue signalling.
The theme of the show this week is motivation. What motivates you? What motivates those around you, both allies and enemies alike? It is important to understand these things about those around you and even more important to understand your own motivations. One of the things that is motivating for the host is listener financial support and as always that is recognized at the beginning of the show.

The Christian specific message this week is also about motivation. What sort of motivation did Jesus condemn? When Jesus condemned making a public spectacle of your giving or praying, he wasn’t telling you to literally go hide in a closet and not let anyone know that you are a believer. Instead, he was condemning the social signalling of the time. With the internet and social media readily available now (unless you’ve been permabanned from much social media as the host has) social signalling both online and IRL is rampant.
This shows that the society around you isn’t simply one of people being misled, it is at its very core satanic in nature. As a Christian believer this is very important to understand in the context of reaffirming the fact that at its very core, you are engaged in a spiritual battle.
An hour or so will fly by before you know it! This show is a lot of things but boring it is not. Each week, we laugh together, think together and ultimately seek God together. One thing is for sure, there is no dozing off in The Church of the Lampshade.
