Grandpa Lampshade looks at how corona has kept us apart from each other and how the removal of our statues and memorials is separating us from our history.
The Church of the Lampshade brings you a unique perspective that you won’t find anywhere else. As always, the show opens with interaction from listeners who financially support the show. Your support and contributions are very much appreciated. If you want to take it to that next level, that information can be found at the bottom of this page.
As the title of this instalment suggests, we are now seeing a larger tactic of isolation taking place in our societies. From the corona tactic of literally isolating you physically from your friends and family, to the more subtle tactic of isolating you from your people, your past and your sense of belonging through the tearing down of historical statues. Recognizing this, it is imperative that you take action to counter it. In this case, be sure that you aren’t isolated. There are a lot of people who agree with you on a lot of things. No, they aren’t going to agree with you on everything and if that is your standard then you will wind up helping the enemy by working to isolate yourself, whether you realize that is what you are doing or not. Isolation in this world of ongoing insanity can lead to you coming to the conclusion that the problem must be with you and it is you and not the world that has gone crazy. This is simply not the case. Whether you read a news article, watch a TV show or movie or even view a commercial, you are being given a narrative and that narrative is based on lies. Take heart; you are not the only one who sees it.
In the Christian specific message this week, the Reverend Lampshade looks at John 5:3-15 and Jesus healing the man by the pool. Much of what Jesus teaches us is through parables, but what is of note here is this is not a parable but an actual event that took place. The cripple by the pool could not see past his physical infirmities. In his mind, the only thing holding him back and impeding his life was this one thing: the fact that he was crippled. Yet, as the story unfolds we find that in the end, this was the least of his problems.
It’s a thought provoking and fun filled hour folks and you are not going to want to miss it. Much appreciation to Sven Longshanks and Radio Albion for hosting shows such as this as well as other great shows from a truly diverse range of perspectives. Also thank you to Boatsinker who so often provides original artwork for the shows. We are all in this together from the network, the artists, the show hosts and the congregation of listeners. We are not alone and no, we are not crazy.
