Sven Longshanks looks at diversity on tv, where BAME groups get almost twice as much screen time as their percentage of the population.
BAME groups get 20% of screen time, while only being 12% of the population yet the report’s commissioners say there needs to be even more!
They complain that there are not enough in areas like senior roles, craft, set design and wardrobe, yet these are all areas that you would not expect BAME groups to have much experience in.
What people want is the best product which you will only get if you hire people on merit, not on what their diversity rating is.
