Sven Longshanks is joined by Southern history enthusiast Isaiah to discuss his research into primary source documents about slavery.
Slavery was seen as a mutually beneficial system, the White farmer took care of all the slaves’ needs and the slaves worked on the farm in exchange.
It was not thought that Whites were capable of doing the work in the great heat, whereas Blacks from Africa were naturally adapted to those temperatures.
The slave owners were all God-fearing men who left many records of their thoughts and justification for this system, especially once the abolitionists started interfering.
