When we speak in broad terms about the U.S. being an empire, people will generally think about this in an external context, such as when the military invades a country that the average citizen can’t find on a map or perhaps when one of the numerous military bases the U.S. maintains around the world gets mentioned.

While these are indeed obvious signs of empire, the United States is not simply an empire abroad and this is just one very narrow aspect of it. The primary empire ruled from Washington D.C. is right here in North America. At the very beginning of the founding of the country, the states were intended to function as individual nations. However today they are nothing more than vassals of the empire and it has been this way for so long, that we think of “Americans” as a monolithic entity when the reality is they are not.

In the Christian specific segment this week, the Reverend Lampshade is taking a bit of a different approach. Most of the time, certain scriptures are reflected upon in relation to how Christian believers live their lives and walk in their faith. This week will be a bit different as we talk about why walking in the faith today in these end times is different to the historical norm.

We tend to take the corrupt society we live in as being the norm and when we find ourselves struggling to follow the guidelines of God’s laws and the natural order, it can be tempting to think there is something wrong with us, our faith or our relationship with the Lord.

It is imperative to understand that you are not living in anything close to a normal society. You are constantly being exposed to messaging and imagery that is in blatant conflict with God’s natural order. While understanding this isn’t going to make these things go away, it will hopefully help you to not become discouraged or think there is something wrong with you or your faith. There isn’t. What is wrong is the satanic society around you.

One listener this week alluded to the fact that they listen to each instalment several times to try and take in all of the content. This isn’t unreasonable as more content is crammed into this show than in any other. Whether you have been traveling the truth seeking path for aeons or whether you just started the journey, you will find you have a home here as a member of the congregation in The Church of the Lampshade.
