With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we’re going to take the time this week to find some things to be thankful for. One particular thing we are thankful for is financial support for the show. If you wish to be a part of that, the information can be found at the bottom of the page.

As we are living through societal collapse at the moment, it can be difficult finding things to be thankful for. Yet, this does not mean these things do not exist. In fact though the collapse itself might seem unpleasant, it also

has the potential to be something to be thankful for. The fact of the matter is that the current system is beyond repair. While there are those who believe that some tinkering around the edges is all that’s needed to fix society, the fact is things have simply gone way too far. For instance, a significant death blow to what was originally established by the Founders was the nineteenth amendment. While it stands to reason that if you repealed this amendment it would make strides towards repairing the damage done, what doesn’t stand to reason is the belief that this could ever actually happen. To repeal the nineteenth, it would require women themselves to vote to give up the right to vote, which is simply not going to happen. However as this system finishes eating itself, we can learn from the mistakes of our ancestors and be preparing ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually, to bring about something better afterwards.

If there is a common theme that the Reverend Lampshade harps on it is the fact that things such as love and faith only come to life through action, without action they are nothing more than empty words with no real value. This is highlighted this week as we take a look at the example of love set by one of our listeners and how love, faith and suffering pertain to our purpose in life as people of God. Understand this: you do not suffer in this life because the Lord gets a sadistic joy out of watching you suffer. You suffer in this life because this is the way in which you grow and when you grow you become fruitful and closer to knowing and understanding God. All too often we think of God’s will in this world strictly within the confines of a grand war with Satan and his minions, but the fact is God can end this temporal realm whenever he so chooses. Thus we must bear in mind God has a large scale plan to make us ready for eternity and struggles and suffering must play a key role in that preparation.
