Sven Longshanks and Max Musson discuss the two British Kings who brought Rome to its knees and subjugated them.
Brennus and Belinus were the first to traverse the Alps with a military force, doing so before Hannibal and going on to defeat the Etruscans who torched their own cities.
Brennus then founded the cities of Milan, Trent and others in northern Italy to replace the destroyed ones.
He took their land under the right of the strong over the weak, which is the right by which the Etrurians had taken over the Romans.
A British officer was then slain by a Roman ambassador, but the Romans would not hand him over, so battle commenced and the Britons were the victors.
Many of the later historians of the Roman empire were descended from the Cisalpine Gauls that had British heritage going back to this incident.
