Grandpa Dan deflects criticism of Christianity for now being subverted and looks at one of Jesus’ parables on the kingdom of heaven.
The Parish of the Patriots returns once again, delving into topics you never knew before you wanted to think about. This show is listener supported and your continued support is very much appreciated. If you wish to be a part of that, the information is at the bottom of this page.
This week, a listener presents us with a familiar argument: if Christianity was able to be subverted in the first place, then perhaps it’s a waste of time trying to defend and fortify it and we should instead be expending our efforts elsewhere. While this isn’t a new assertion, it does sound logical, so let’s take the logic to its natural conclusion and see if it holds up.
As the show rolls on towards the official Christian specific segment, GPD will share some random observations and thoughts on the world around us. From porn stars and prostitutes to the obamination that is the American health care system we will take a look at how things look contradictory on the surface, always (as if by magic) work together to arrive at the same outcome.
In the Christian specific segment this week, The Reverend Dan will be taking a look at the parable of the workers in the vineyard hired at different times of the day. We shouldn’t forget that Jesus led this illustration off with “…the Kingdom of Heaven is like…”. Instead of getting hung up and distracted on whether or not it was actually fair for the workers hired later in the day to be paid the same amount, we will look to see how and why this is an illustration of how the Kingdom of Heaven works.
Scripture reference this week will be:
Mathew 20:1-16
