Sven Longshanks looks at the real reason why Jews were expelled from England, since the Church is now apologising for it.
HRH Edward Longshanks expelled the Jews from England because they were unable to obey the law of the land against usury.
This was after he had spent ten years providing them with training in alternative trades, but they refused to engage and insisted all they wanted to do was lend money.
Before that over ten percent of them were caught red-handed clipping coins and melting them down, but only those responsible were hanged and the rest were allowed to stay if they agreed to learn a legal trade.
He really did do his best to help them adjust to living in a Christian country, but they refused to obey the law and expelling them was the only option.
