Sven Longshanks plays a range of new music by European artists from the alternative genres.

Amalec begins with a Lynchian martial industrial backing for poetry by Nullus and a chorus by Mama P, followed by the menacing cyberpunk bass and acid squiggles of Lazerpunk’s new single ‘Wraith’.

Forerunnerx turns up the distortion and reverses the snare signature, while Rouge go for a trancey industrial number to get the glowsticks waving.

XOTT mix breaks with metal riffs and female vocals with Inspira doing similar, but with more of a pop style to the chorus.

Sun Vessel break with the synths for a neofolk piece with gothic vocals, before we get into the metal proper with glorious harmonies from WarKings.

Хрен bring melancholic strings and death metal kick drums, followed by prog-rock symphonic black metal from Demon Shinegami, who could do with a touch more bass in his production.

Speed of Darkness go back to the glorious choruses again, contrasting with the growls and blast beats of Beyond Time, who sound like a Polish Ruadh.

Surturs Lohe slow the pace, adding choirs and unexpected chord progressions and JD Solway finishes up with a piano recital.
