Parish of the Patriots: What’s the Point of the Test? – PP 010422

Grandpa Dan delves into the listener mailbag before discussing Covid testing regulations.

The Parish of the Patriots contains one of a kind thought provoking discussion as well as a Christian specific message that you won’t find anywhere else. If you get something out of this show, your voluntary financial support is very much appreciated and if you wish to be a part of that you can find the information at the bottom of the page.

As we ring in the new year, GPD is soldiering through this show while sick. Is it a bad cold? Is it the flu? Is it the deadly “Omicron” variant of the deadly doom virus? Who knows? The constant messaging now is that anytime you feel under the weather, you are supposed to run out and take a Covid test.

Even people who will be quick to tell you that they don’t buy into any part of this narrative, will still jump up and go take a test if they feel sick. However, what’s the point? Even if you set aside the fact that they have more or less admitted that these tests are unreliable at best, whether you test positive or negative you are going to get the same medical advice: go home, rest, drink plenty of fluids and if your fever gets too high or you have trouble breathing, go to the emergency room.

So again, what is the point of the test? When you run out and take these Covid tests, the only thing that is accomplished is giving the government and media something to point to in order to feed their doom floo narrative of “cases are surging!”

In the Christian specific segment we’ll be looking at the story of Jesus on the boat asleep while the disciples are getting swamped by a storm. It’s understandable that they were panicked as their experience as fishermen told them that this was potentially a very deadly situation. Yet because they happened to be on the same boat as Jesus and because they were going to the same place He was going, there was no actual problem.

Christ stood up and with a word, calmed the sea. The lesson in this for us is that we cannot leave Jesus on the shore while we go off doing our own thing and then when we find ourselves swamped, run around and expect Jesus to calm the sea for us. We have to have Jesus on the boat. This means putting in the time and effort to figure out what He is doing so that we can be as close to Him as possible. In this manner, we will be prepared for whatever storms might arise in our lives.

Bible reference will be: Mark 4:36-41

As a society, as a people, we left Jesus on the shore long ago. Is it any real surprise that now the nation ship is going under?
