Sven Longshanks and Max Musson discuss preparations for Captain Scott’s fateful, final expedition.
Explorers used to have an unwritten rule not to go where someone else had already staked their claim, but Shackleton thought that Scott was not going to the Antarctic again, so he broke this rule.
This upset Scott, but for the cause of beating johnny foreigner and getting to the South Pole first, he and Shackleton both came to an agreement.
As our hero was making his way to New Zealand to meet up with the Terra Nova, we hear how the Norwegians suddenly make a break for the South Pole too, leaving Scott and his men stuck with their wives who end up falling out and having a big fight.
